Nicholas Ponting is a scenic designer, installation, & stained glass artist based in San Diego, CA, from the Pacific Northwest.

He has worked with companies such as; South Coast Repertory, The La Jolla Playhouse/WoW, TheatreWorks Hartford, The 5th Avenue Theatre, IAMA Theatre Co., Boston Court Pasadena, LA Opera, The Public Theatre, Chautauqua Theatre Co., Antaeus Theatre Co., Detroit Public Theatre, and others. He is the associate scenic designer and installation supervisor for Optika Moderna, creating immersive theatrical experiences in San Diego.

NIck has a design studio in San Diego, where he creates contemporary stained glass and teaches private classes. His work can be seen locally at The Lafayette Hotel in the mezcal bar Quixote.

In 2023, Nick joined as adjunct faculty at San Diego State University in the School of Theatre, Television & Film. He teaches courses in scenic and immersive theatrical design.
